OXFORD UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES TO VISIT PRAGUE - 22nd June 2009
Over the past few years the University of Oxford has seen an increase in the number of students from the Czech Republic considering making an application to UK institutions and specifically Oxford.
We are delighted to inform you of an opportunity for Czech students, their parents and teachers to meet with representatives from Oxford University in Prague on Monday the 22nd June 2009, which is being organised jointly by the Undergraduate Admissions Office and the Oxford and Cambridge Alumni Society, Czech Republic (OCAS).
This workshop is designed to provide detailed and accurate information regarding all of the aspects that one might consider when applying to Oxford. This will include; the choice of course, the collegiate structure of the University, social life, the financial costs and benefits, and the application process itself, including admissions tests and interviews. The event will be held at Prague Central Municipal library (Městská knihovna), Mariánském náměstí 1, Praha 1, in the small lecture theatre (malý sál), from 14:00 to 16:00. Web site of the library: http://www.mlp.cz/ and a map: http://www.mlp.cz/mapky/m1.jpg
The session is primarily aimed at students considering starting university in October 2010, and therefore would normally be in their penultimate year at school. Competition for places at Oxford is strong, and tutors would normally consider students achieving the following grades; AAA at A-Level, or the International Baccalaureate with around 38-40, including core points, with 6s and 7s at Higher Level. The Czech maturitní zkouška / maturita is also readily considered, where competitive candidates are likely to achieve scores of 1 (výborný) in the majority of subjects taken.
In order to book places for this event we would be extremely grateful if anyone interested would kindly make reservation. Reservation request should be sent to ocasregistration@yahoo.com by Monday the 8th June at the latest. Confirmation, including directions to the venue, will then be sent by email at least seven days prior to the event.
